Today I'm invited to new students in a situation where I'm to monitor a class where they're being taught by their regular teacher. As I think about that I like this shared by Jim Scrivener:
I remember the first time I worked as a teacher in Ukraine; I'd had no training and I wanted them all to be my friends. I tried to be scintillating and fun, but I never felt like my efforts were repaid by genuine friendliness.
